Look out for transition mentors or professionals who would help you transition your expectations and perception while moving from Military to the civilian world. Military discipline and expectations are totally absurd to the civilian world. Discipline in the military would be punishment to the civilian masses.

Professional mentors could be of real help. However the person himself/herself needs to accept that mentoring on this transition of the mindset is a necessity and not an alternative.
