I hit a semi head on and was in a coma. 5 yrs later I have so many memory problems. Not sure what day it is, can't remember where I placed keys,  miss appointments, hard to tell how long ago i did something. I cry a lot, do not remember wreck and can only recall very little of the hospital stay. Words are hard to fiind when I talk and sometimes I tell someone something more than once forgetting I already told them. What does all this mean?

Hubby had a TBI 40 yrs ago - car wreck w/small stroke, in a coma for 3 wks. He had a much less dire car wreck 2 yrs ago, and I began seeing cognitive declines enough to look into.
No one can validate that his brain is slowly losing function again.
1. Is there any hope to be had for him?!?

2. Can I find any support groups for me in Chgo area (he's not interested)?

TIA,

Shy Wife
