War Related Illness and Injury Study Center - California

The California War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC) is the third such center funded by the VA. They provide consultation services for post-deployment Veterans with a complex medical history that includes tests and treatment with little to no symptom improvement; possible deployment related environmental exposures; and for primary care physicians (PCP) who desire a second opinion using a multi-specialty team approach. The center utilizes a team of clinicians, researchers and educators who thoroughly review the history of the current complaint and offer recommendations for further testing and treatment. Their research focuses on improved diagnostics and rehabilitation for veterans who have sustained a mild Traumatic Brain Injury.
