TIRR Challenge Program/TIRR Outpatient Therapy Services

TIRR Memorial Hermann Day Rehabilitation offers “Challenge,” a community re-integration program for brain injury patients age 14 and older. The program assists patients with the return to work, school or volunteering, or to a higher level of independence. Services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, cognitive rehabilitation, neuropsychological treatment, counseling and vocational rehabilitation. The interdisciplinary team consists of speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists and social workers.

Educational services prepare high school and post-secondary school students for an the return to an educational environment. Therapy staff consults with school personnel about making accommodations in the academic setting. TIRR Challenge Program can provide selected treatment to people whose predominant language is Spanish.

A separate program, TIRR Outpatient Rehabilitation, provides pediatric outpatient rehabilitation services one to three days per week.  Patients are admitted from birth to 21 years of age.
