Catawba Valley Medical Center

Catawba Valley Medical Center’s Center for Rehabilitation offers both inpatient and outpatient services for patients who are recovering from stroke, orthopedic surgery, amputation or other illnesses and injuries. Treatments include physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology, as well as other services. Patients and families are encouraged to take an active role in creating a treatment plan.  The inpatient center is a 20-bed unit that has been accredited by CARF, the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission, as a Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation Program. The Center consists of private and semiprivate rooms with wheelchair accessible bathrooms and closets. The center also has a therapeutic day room and a transitional living suite that may be used prior to discharge.

The Outpatient Rehabilitation Center provides a range of services to patients who do not need to be hospitalized for treatment.  The Center is staffed by licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and fitness professionals who coordinate with the patient’s physician to help the patient regain physical strength and motor skills.
