Carolinas Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Research System

The Carolinas Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Research System (CTBIRRS) is one of only 16 National Traumatic Brain Injury "Model System" sites. Carolinas Rehabilitation operates CTBIRRS through federal grant funding provided by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (U.S. Department of Education). The CTBIRRS program's goal is to conduct research targeted towards improving the outcomes of traumatic brain injuries (TBI). As part of this project, data is collected to learn more about the lives of those with TBI and their caregivers. These individuals are contacted annually for data collection and the data is submitted to the TBI Model System National Database.
