Brain Injury Research Center (BIRC)

The Brain Injury Research Center (BIRC) at TIRR Memorial Hermann brings together world-renowned researchers to study the many complicated facets of recovery from brain injury. The BIRC has been able to leverage resources from the U.S. Department of Education's National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) and from the National Institutes of Health to conduct research in a manner that facilitates the greatest progress in identifying effective treatments.

The BIRC at TIRR Memorial Hermann is funded by multiple grants from the NIDRR, including designation as a Rehabilitation Research and Training  Center on Developing Strategies to Foster Community Integration and Participation (CIP) for Individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
