Atrium Health

The Atrium Health's (formerly Carolinas Rehabilitation) Brain Injury program offers inpatient and outpatient therapy programs. Inpatient participants receive up to four and a half hours of therapy per day.  Patients work on relearning tasks of daily living, with the goal of returning to the community. The outpatient program meets five days a week and focuses on individual and group therapy to help integrate individuals back into school, work and the community.

Atrium also participates in rehabilitation research programs, such as the TBI Model System and Project STAR.  Atrium is one of 16 centers in the United States named "TBI Model System" by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research. This involvement allows access and participation in a national database for the purpose of sharing knowledge about recovery following TBI, long-term problems and TBI-related medical issues. Participation in this research is voluntary, confidential and offered at no additional cost to the patient.
