The brain injury program at Covenant, accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and Health Facilities Accreditation Program, offers inpatient treatment for adults and adolescents (ages 14+).  The program treats any of the following conditions:

Origami Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center

Origami Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center is the result of an alliance between Michigan State University and Peckham Incorporated. Michigan State University provides medical and rehabilitation services, and Peckham provides residential management and vocational training for patients who have experienced a traumatic brain injury. The Origami program is located 5 miles from the Michigan State University Campus on Sandhill Road in Mason, Michigan. The residential building resembles a large ranch style farm home.

Rainbow Rehabilitation Centers - Garden City Apartments

Garden City Apartments Program offers full access to Rainbow Rehabilitation's brain injury therapy team and treatment facilities. Individual therapy, group activities, home-based programs, case management services, nursing and recreational opportunities are among the services available. There are also vocational services, transportation, household maintenance support, help with money management and community reintegration services. At Rainbow, therapy programs are developed on an individual basis.

Rainbow Rehabilitation Centers - Oakland Treatment Center

The Oakland Treatment Center, located in downtown Farmington, houses Rainbow Rehab's pediatric and adolescent brain injury programs.  The facility also serves adults with brain and/or spinal cord injuries. This center features a sensory integration room, private treatment rooms, modern therapy equipment, an accessible kitchen, a library and computer room, a fitness center, a gym, and a therapeutic swimming pool.

Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan

The Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) has a 26-bed unit dedicated to brain injury rehabilitation. In addition to brain injury, RIM treats patients suffering from other serious injuries or illnesses.  RIM is also home to the Southeastern Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System (SEMTBIS), one of 16 Centers of Excellence for the care and treatment of persons with traumatic brain injury. Brain injury rehabilitation patients work with therapists on everyday living skills such as dressing, bathing, walking and cooking.

Southeastern Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan

The Southeastern Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System (SEMTBIS) is a traumatic brain injury research program funded through the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), U.S. Department of Education.  

SEMTBIS is housed at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) in Detroit, Michigan.  RIM is part of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) which is a network of non-profit academic health care facilities that are associated with Wayne State University (WSU).

Special Tree Rehabilitation NeuroCare Center

Located in a Romulus, MI neighborhood near the NeuroCare Center, the Romulus Neuro Skills Center offers day services and programming. The facility has a kitchen, activity room and entertainment area, as well as spaces for private treatments. The Center also houses Special Tree's Residential Administration, Learning Systems, and Human Resource Offices.

The Special Tree Student Center offers services created specifically to serve the needs of children and teens with brain injuries. The programs focus on self-awareness, community exploration and peer relationships. Special Tree Rehabilitation System - Midland Neuro Skills Center

Special Tree's Midland Neuro Skills Center serves as the hub for Special Tree’s Mid-Michigan locations. A full services outpatient center, it is a stand alone clinic and administrative office in Midland, MI.  The center provides a therapy kitchen and treatment space as well as office, administrative, and common areas. Special Tree Rehabilitation System - Royal Oak Community Residence

This six-bedroom home was renovated in 2007 to serve the needs of children and teens with brain injuries. Located near downtown Royal Oak, the facility is close to parks and nature trails. College style suites provide private rooms for every resident, with fully accessible roll-in showers. The home has recreation areas, including a billiard room and media room for movies, games and entertainments. Common areas are used for group activities, study time, family visits or personal time. Residents build skills in the areas of independence, self management, and emotional stability.
