The Baptist Hospital offers both inpatient out and outpatient rehabilitation to those that have sustained a brain injury. Our licensed, bilingual therapists begin by performing a thorough needs assessment. Based on this assessment, and working with a physical medicine doctor, the therapists develop a treatment plan for each patient. Patients and families are encouraged to participate in decisions and to ask questions during the therapy process.

BIAF is Florida’s only statewide, non-profit organization dedicated to individuals who have survived a brain injury and their families. Founded in 1985 by the mother of a young man who sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) from a motor vehicle crash, BIAF’s mission is to “improve the quality of life for all persons with brain injury and their families by creating a better future through brain injury awareness, prevention, research, education, support services and advocacy.”
Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital is a state-designated treatment facility for children and adults with brain and spinal cord injuries. As patients progress through therapy treatments, Brooks offers a Day Treatment program to ease the transition from acute care to home. Brooks is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital at Delray Medical Center offers both inpatient and outpatient care, with an inpatient program dedicated to brain injury. The facility is an acute rehabilitation unit within Delray Medical Center that specializes in in-treatment for adult patients who have temporary or permanent disability as a result of an injury, disease, stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, orthopedic injury or surgery. The center focuses on treating patients who hope to make a complete return to their homes and communities.
Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sunrise (formerly HealthSouth) rehabilitation program focuses on helping patients achieve functional and cognitive recovery following a brain injury. The program teaches patients how to be more self-sufficient, and offers education about how to avoid future health problems related to their condition(s).
Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Treasure Coast (formerly HealthSouth Treasure Coast Rehabilitation Hospital) is a 90-bed acute medical rehabilitation hospital that offers inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services for patients from Sebastian southward to Jupiter. HealthSouth Treasure Coast Rehabilitation Hospital provides the medical, nursing, therapy and ancillary services required to comply with local, state and federal regulations.
The Florida Institute for Neurologic Rehabilitation, Inc. (FINR) offers rehabilitation, education and vocational services to both children and adult survivors of brain injury. FINR provides individualized assessment, restorative services and foundational retraining in behavior, psych-social, cognitive, physical functioning, communication, daily living, education and vocational areas. FINR also participates in public education about brain injury and the challenges brain injured survivors face.
Jackson Rehabilitation Hospital founded its TBI program in 1984. Throughout the rehabilitation program, patients with TBI focus on achieving independent mobility and self-care activities. The program addresses problems with speech, reading comprehension and other language disorders. For some patients, group therapy may be used to overcome cognitive deficits and develop compensatory strategies. Jackson's TBI rehabilitation program assists with the patient's community re-entry process by creating situations for patients to practice new skills in real-life (supervised) environments.
