The Baptist Hospital offers both inpatient out and outpatient rehabilitation to those that have sustained a brain injury. Our licensed, bilingual therapists begin by performing a thorough needs assessment. Based on this assessment, and working with a physical medicine doctor, the therapists develop a treatment plan for each patient. Patients and families are encouraged to participate in decisions and to ask questions during the therapy process.

BIAF is Florida’s only statewide, non-profit organization dedicated to individuals who have survived a brain injury and their families. Founded in 1985 by the mother of a young man who sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) from a motor vehicle crash, BIAF’s mission is to “improve the quality of life for all persons with brain injury and their families by creating a better future through brain injury awareness, prevention, research, education, support services and advocacy.”
Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital is a state-designated treatment facility for children and adults with brain and spinal cord injuries. As patients progress through therapy treatments, Brooks offers a Day Treatment program to ease the transition from acute care to home. Brooks is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital at Delray Medical Center offers both inpatient and outpatient care, with an inpatient program dedicated to brain injury. The facility is an acute rehabilitation unit within Delray Medical Center that specializes in in-treatment for adult patients who have temporary or permanent disability as a result of an injury, disease, stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, orthopedic injury or surgery. The center focuses on treating patients who hope to make a complete return to their homes and communities.
Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sunrise (formerly HealthSouth) rehabilitation program focuses on helping patients achieve functional and cognitive recovery following a brain injury. The program teaches patients how to be more self-sufficient, and offers education about how to avoid future health problems related to their condition(s).
Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Treasure Coast (formerly HealthSouth Treasure Coast Rehabilitation Hospital) is a 90-bed acute medical rehabilitation hospital that offers inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services for patients from Sebastian southward to Jupiter. HealthSouth Treasure Coast Rehabilitation Hospital provides the medical, nursing, therapy and ancillary services required to comply with local, state and federal regulations.
The Florida Institute for Neurologic Rehabilitation, Inc. (FINR) offers rehabilitation, education and vocational services to both children and adult survivors of brain injury. FINR provides individualized assessment, restorative services and foundational retraining in behavior, psych-social, cognitive, physical functioning, communication, daily living, education and vocational areas. FINR also participates in public education about brain injury and the challenges brain injured survivors face.
Jackson Rehabilitation Hospital founded its TBI program in 1984. Throughout the rehabilitation program, patients with TBI focus on achieving independent mobility and self-care activities. The program addresses problems with speech, reading comprehension and other language disorders. For some patients, group therapy may be used to overcome cognitive deficits and develop compensatory strategies. Jackson's TBI rehabilitation program assists with the patient's community re-entry process by creating situations for patients to practice new skills in real-life (supervised) environments.
The James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center is one of 5 VA facilities in the country designed to provide intensive rehabilitative care to Veterans and Active Duty Service members who have experienced severe traumatic brain injuries. Mothers For TBI Hope, formerly Mothers Against Brain Injury, is a 501c3 Florida charitable organization founded and run by a mother of a son with TBI. Their mission is to provide a compendium of personal comfort items, non-clinical written information about brain injury & acute hospitalization, helpful resources, useful tools and most importantly HOPE to the family members of any person newly admitted to a trauma center with a severe TBI through their Totes of Comfort & Hope Program.
NeuroRestorativeAvalon Park, the only one of its kind in Florida, is located in the Keith A. Ewing Medical Building in Orlando and offers participants an opportunity to receive brain and spinal cord injury services in a fully accessible community. Services include: Neurorehabilitation, Transitional Living, Supported Living, Day Treatment, Outpatient, and Respite.
Our supported living home in Brandon is nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood outside of Tampa. This location offers a therapeutically modified living environment that ensures safety to our participants and community inclusion.
NeuroRestorative Florida has several CARF-accredited providers throughout Florida. The Clearwater location offers a less restrictive environment with 24-hour staff supervision. It has access to shopping malls, restaurants, movie theaters and more. The Clearwater location offers three group homes, on-site apartments and a full array of post acute neurorehabilitation services.

There are several locations in Sarasota including four single-family settings all located within the same idyllic neighborhood close to the bay and the heart of southwest Florida.Together this cluster of community-based homes provides a similar range of programs and services as well as a shared swimming pool and other outdoor features. The Lutz location also offers a program that specializes in serving senior citizens. Services include: Neurorehabilitation, Neurobehavioral, and Respite.
Orlando Health Rehabilitation Institute is home to the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center (BIRC), which has specialized in brain injury treatment for more than 27 years. BIRC provides both inpatient and outpatient care. Specifically, the outpatient program specializes in treating adolescents and adults with traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, strokes, Parkinson's Disease, multiple sclerosis and other brain and neurological diseases. BIRC works with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists and neuropsychologists to create treatment plans.
The Tampa General Rehabilitation Center is a 59-bed facility located on the campus of Tampa General Hospital.

The UF Health Shands Rehab Hospital is a 40-bed acute rehab hospital in Gainesville, Florida for patients who have suffered strokes, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, burns or major joint replacements.
