Because families frequently provide the majority of care for individuals with traumatic brain injury, family caregivers are at risk for physical and emotional problems, which in turn can negatively impact the functioning of their loved one and the whole family. Authors of this study suggest that a focus on family support is important, especially for Latin American and Hispanic families for whom the emphasis on family is paramount.
