The Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC) is a first-of-its-kind partnership between the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense (DoD), integrating all medical care into a fully-integrated federal health care facility with a single combined VA and Navy mission.
The VA Medical Center in Marion, Illinois, is a general medical and surgical facility that operates 55 acute care beds and a 60 bed Community Living Center. Ten Outpatient Clinics that provide primary care and behavioral medicine services are located in Harrisburg; Carbondale; Effingham; and Mt. Vernon, IL; Paducah; Hanson; Owensboro; and Mayfield, Kentucky; Vincennes and Evansville, IN.
The Road Home Program at the Center for Veterans and Their Families at Rush provides timely and confidential support, counseling and veteran health services to help service members, veterans and their family understand, heal from and cope with the invisible wounds of war. Their team includes trauma psychologists, social workers, traumatic brain injury specialists and child psychologists. They also provide confidential, compassionate counseling for individuals, couples, children and families.
