The Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania (BIAPA) aims to prevent brain injury and improve the quality of life for brain injury survivors and their family members through support, education, advocacy, and research. BIAPA maintains a database of resources, organizes support programs, and provides other information regarding care and support for brain injuries. 

Founded in 2012, Delaware Valley Residential Care (DVRC) provides post acute, community based rehabilitation services for survivors of brain injury. We serve persons with traumatic and acquired brain injuries. DVRC is licensed as a Personal Care Home in the state of Pennsylvania by the Bureau of Human Services Licensing. DVRC programs are designed to provide adult survivors of brain injury with resources and support to live as independently as possible.

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Erie is an acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital located on Lake Erie. Services include: rehabilitation nursing; occupational therapy; physical therapy; speech-language pathology; and psychology. Family members are welcome to attend therapy sessions. The staff also provides ongoing education for family members. HealthSouth Erie holds a triple-certification by The Joint Commission in the areas of Brain Injury, Stroke and Parkinson’s Disease Rehabilitation. Specialized and coordinated rehabilitation is critical in recovering from a brain injury.

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of York is a 90-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and home health rehabilitation services designed to return patients to leading active and independent lives. Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of York has specialized inpatient programs for stroke, brain injury and diabetes, including an 11-bed TBI closed unit in York, PA that offers services in Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinsons, and Stroke.

Magee provides brain injury services in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Inpatient stays average a length of 26 days. Treatment teams are lead by a brain injury physiatrist, and treatment plans combine technology and pharmacology with hands-on evaluations and therapies.  Magee maintains relationships with other providers, such as vocational agencies and residential programs, to enable referrals to appropriate support programs. Each case is managed from initial enrollment through follow-up.

Main Line Rehabilitation Associates, Inc. offers rehabilitation services to adults and children with brain injuries, autism, and other neurological diagnoses. Main Line offers mild brain injury services as well as pediatric brain injury services. The mild brain injury services focus on increasing the patient’s awareness of subtle and frequently misunderstood injury-related problems that influence family, work, and leisure interests.

Situated on over nine acres of land in Fairview, a small community west of Erie, NeuroRestorative Pennsylvania offers participants a relaxing atmosphere and many opportunities for recreational activities and community integration. Just minutes from Lake Erie, participants have convenient access to a variety of community resources as well as social and cultural activities including shopping, entertainment and local attractions. Services include: Neurorehabilitation, Supported Living, Transitional Living, Day Treatment, Respite, and Outpatient.

Founded in 1984, ReMed provides brain injury rehabilitation services and programs to patients with mild, moderate, and severe brain injuries.  Treatment is available on a short-term, long-term, or episodic basis.  Staff will conduct evaluations of prospective patients, for both residential and outpatient programs.

The Cohen Veterans Network provides veterans and their families with high-quality, accessible, and integrated mental health care. Each clinic provides free, client-centered mental health care along with support for related stressors like unemployment, finances, and housing. their clinicians and staff have been trained to work specifically with veterans and their families. *Telehealth available
