Brain Injury Association of Canada

Founded in 2003, the Brain Injury Association of Canada (BIAC)'s mission is to improve the quality of life for all Canadians affected by acquired brain injury, and promote brain injury prevention. BIAC partners with national, provincial/territorial and regional associations, and other stakeholders, to facilitate post-trauma research, education and advocacy. BIAC is incorporated as a national charitable organization under the Canada Corporations Act and Canada Revenue Agency.

Founded in 1986, Brain Injury Australia (BIA) represents all Australians with acquired brain injury. BIA represents, through its State and Territory Member Organizations, the needs of people with an acquired brain injury, their families and caregivers. BIA operates at a national level to ensure that all people living with acquired brain injury have access to the supports and resources they need.

Brain Injury New Zealand (BIANZ) represents the regional Brain Injury Associations around New Zealand. These regional associations provide education, advocacy, support and information to any person with a brain injury and their families and/or caregivers. The national office provides support for the regional associations, national level advocacy, and political review.

European Brain Injury Society

EBIS is a European association that serves traumatic brain injured persons and victims of acquired cerebral lesions: stroke, anoxia, encephalitis, brain tumour. EBIS members have access to a network of brain injury professionals and services. Other benefits include seminars, workshops and advice about relevant activities of the European Union. EBIS has 165 individual and institutional members from all the countries of the European Union, plus Switzerland.

Headway is a charity set up to give help and support to people affected by brain injury. It does this both locally and nationally. Headway's mission is to promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and to provide information, support and services to people with a brain injury, their families and carers.

International Brain Injury Association

Founded in 1993, the International Brain Injury Association (IBIA) is dedicated to the development and support of multidisciplinary medical and clinical professionals, advocates, policy makers, consumers and others who work to improve outcomes and opportunities for persons with brain injury.
