University Athletes Need More Information About Brain Injury

In this study, 224 university athletes completed a questionnaire about symptoms and familiarity with terms such as mild traumatic brain injury (TBI), concussion, and minor head injury. Athletes were least familiar with the term “mild TBI” and also expected outcome to be worse than that of “concussion” or “minor head injury.” The authors suggest increased education is needed at the university level.
