Post-traumatic amnesia and its relationship to the functional outcome of people with severe traumatic brain injury.

This study conducted in Australia reaffirmed that longer durations of post-traumatic amnesia (PTA) are associated with more severe brain injuries and longer recovery times, i.e. hospitalizations. PTA duration is also a predictor of how well a person will function following a brain injury.
