Depression treatment preferences after traumatic brain injury

Fann, JR, Jones AL, Dikmen SS, Temin, NR, Esselman PC, and Bombardier, CH. Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation, 2009, Jul-Aug 24 (4):272-8.

In this study, physical exercise or counseling were preferred more than other techniques for depression treatment after TBI. Group therapy was the least favored modality. Face-to-face communication or phone contact was preferred over using the Internet. Medication was more likely to be chosen as a treatment by people with TBI who had a pre-injury history of depression or other mental health issues.
