Traumatic brain injury and functional outcomes: Does minority status matter?

Arango-Lasprilla, J, Rosenthal, M, DeLuca J, Komaroff E, Sherer M, Cifu DX, Hanks, R. 2007. Brain Inj, 21(7):701-708.

In this study, minority survivors had significantly worse long-term functional outcomes when compared to white survivors after rehabilitation. The authors of this study recommend that rehabilitation professionals consider the reasons for poorer results and work to improve the quality of life of minorities with TBI.
